There is a new cocktail in town and ladies, don't be shy to introduce yourselves. He is refreshing, surprising, clean, smooth and a little sweet.
For several summers we have been chasing the Captain or his pal Sailor Jerry. When we got tired or outgrew their antics we may have moved on to Jack or Johnny or Jim. But they always left us feeling like shit and with age comes wisdom.
Then there was Jose. Mexican bastard. Always sneaking in when least expected, or invited and just mean and dangerous. He hasn't been around in a while and I am thankful for that, but the funny thing is, no matter how hard you try, you can't deny that at some point or another, an affair with him may just seem tempting.
But as we get older and our tastes change, we become introduced to new flavors that enhance our senses and levels of sophistication. For example. Years ago I had a one night stand with Campari. It was awful. Tasted like smoke, didn't mix well with others and left me feeling disappointed and unfulfilled. A few years later...
Fast forward to last summer we were reintroduced and he was fabulous! He had gotten a makeover and was no longer this smokey redhead I remembered. He had met a fine prosecco classed himself up in a fine wine glass and added a hint of orange to cover up any remaining traces of an uninviting aroma. We have been hanging out ever since.
But then! Hold on a minute?! Who is this new man in town, this Hugo? We were introduced in Zurich this Sunday and my friend and I agreed that toouxj of him is probably not a bad thing!
Peppermint and lime splashing around in a tall white wine glass of prosecco and pear liquor. Ugh, the first sip with make you melt and everyone thereafter makes your toes curl. Hugo is the new sexy, delicious palate wetter this summer and I strongly encourage you to make friends, because he is fabulous!!!
